A New Website

We first photographed, Isaac’s around six years ago, when they were getting their brand new website built.

In 2022 we returned to see the team again, for you’ve guessed it, images for a new website!

We discussed different looks for their team’s photography. The last time we shot the team members at their desks to give that relaxed, at-work feel. People on phones, looking at screens, you know the kind of thing

A different look

Sarfraz had been looking at different styles of headshot photography and showed me a few looks he really liked. A darker background with more dramatic lighting really stood out, in fact, there was a headshot studio in London, specialising in this look, so we decided this was the vibe to go for. 

Off to the flash centre in Leeds I went to purchase a dark grey background, they had “charcoal”, which is a lovely dark grey colour and perfect for the shoot

The Shoot

We set the backdrop up in the meeting room, which is HUGE when the partition wall is opened.

Geeky camera bit… I used 3 lights, two of which created the rim light you see on their temples, arms and hair, the third was the key light which lit the faces.

Everybody had a chance to get a shot sat down on a lovely leather sofa and a second round where stood up and pretty much do what they wanted. 

The Retouch

Once the photos were chosen, we did our usual retouching to get everybody looking consistent – using the large background and careful lighting made this pretty straight forward – just eyes/teeeth/skin and the occasional bit of stray.

Stand-Out results

At the end of the process, I think we’ve got a look few, if any, Yorkshire accountants have – that darker background and the dramatically lit team will make Sarfraz, Khalid and the team stand out from the rest.
